Accepting Great…

These are from Juliana and Nathan’s wedding at the Radison on July 13th, just a sampling. It was medieval themed and amazing! I remember so many neat things that Julie did to make their day special. I really loved that she took little pictures of them growing up and scattered them about on the tables… Nathan had his share of memories also, wearing shiny armor! One thing that clearly stands out in my mind, is when they cut the bottom of her dress off (the underside) with a small pocket knife– so she’d be able to walk with out tripping! I nearly dropped my camera. Many more images to come, but here are 36 to start you off….

When I started going thru this wedding, I found quite a few images that my flash didn’t go off, or SS wasn’t

fast enough… and initially I said… darn. But then I started looking at them a bit differently. These images bring me back to that ballroom. I hear the laughter, I smell the cake, I remember those little looks Nathan shot at his new wife. Isn’t that our job? Is that not what I was hired to do, to capture those moments, as their photographer? Sure, these images may not be technically correct. They might not be what everyone is looking for… but they are what I’m looking for. I want an image that says… creative and unique. I don’t care if it’s not perfect… I can accept great…. and to me- these are just that…. great images that have captivated me and reminded me of that day. I hope they do the same for others.

PromoSHOOT!

Soooo, Mrs. Awesomeness Stefanie Burt of S.B. Photography and Myself have indulged ourselves in a new little project, The Tattered Veil!

The Tattered Veil is, well us, together shooting weddings, destination or local- and we are pretty darn excited about it. With this last weekend being the most wanted matrimonial day of the year, we have proudly already shot our first diddy together while my AMAZING husband watched ALL FIVE KIDS!! (Remember I myself have quite the handful, Jayden 8, Hunter 6, and Natalie 8 weeks… Stef’s kids are Aidan 4, and Aeris 2!)- and we ROCKED it! Just like we’re gonna rock Denver!
We left Stanley Hotel with just under 3000 images to sort through, tired, and still a little shaken from our 45 minute 4×4 climb up to the tippy tippy top of a CLIFF, then shooting in the rain!! and THEN driving down the mountain… in the RAIN!! (no kidding with pics to prove coming shortly!)

Tattered Veil is all about quality, fun, and celebration! You will truly have quite the amazing experience with us as your photographers on your big day. Best of all you know we’ll bring it! And to prove it– check out these promos! Stef convinced (tho not much convincing was needed) me to squeeze into my own wedding gown and head down to one of my favorite locations to shoot! After 7 years, not too shabby eh! (Happy Anniversary to us on August 10th!  Love you Baby!)

So will all 5 kids in tow, me with my ballroom blitz, we headed west. We HAD to stop at the supermarket for flowers, and lemme tell you- what an attention getter! I gave out 3 cards in the store, got a ton of looks and comments, and was even asked if I was SIXTEEN!! Not bad for a 28-year old mama huh!!

Anyway, check out these rockin pics, taken by our very own Stef.. I had so much fun processing them!! That’s why there’s soooo many!

Parker Family

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting the entire Parker family!  They were a joy to work with!  We had some lighting issues with the big group as there was a HUGE window to the left of me with hot direct sun coming thru… :(

Directly below is my favorite image from the bunch.  You can see the little blue symbol on their red shirts, Mr. Parker designed that in honor of his family.
