Sooo… did you boost the economy?

So, did you?  What crazy somethings did everyone purchase with their stimulus checks?

We, being 8 months pregnant, chose to purchase some descent pillows in hopes that I could get some rest!  So far, it’s been a good $300 spent!  We also bought the kids new clothes that they desperately needed and new bed sets.  Other then that the rest is going to bills.

So spill it… I might give ya something pretty if you share!  See that little comment button below…. clicky.

Betty Crocker… Wanna Be

BFF Gina and I LOVE Jim n Nicks cheese biscuits.  They are scrumptious!  And when she told me this morning that she’s been tryin to figure out the recipe…. i couldn’t help but get a craving myself being pregnant and all, had to make some myself since she’s in FL and can’t make for me LOL.

Anyway… this is what I turned up with, but because I’m lame and don’t have a muffin pan I made mine like cornbread.  I would have to agree with G that the recipe is WAY too sweet, and too vanilla-y, but because I’m a cooking tard, I don’t know what to add in place of the sugar and vanilla?  More milk and flour?  I was good not to burn ‘em!!  Because I did pour all the batter into the baking dish instead of muffin pans, I did have to cook for an additional 12 minutes, 6 of them with foil on top to avoid burning.

They were still pretty good, and the boys LOVED them… but they were chewy and again way too sweet.

So G, when you get that recipe down, be sure to forward it to me!!  In the meantime here is the one that I used- that was too sweet.  Feel free to alter and add your recipe for us all to try!  Pretty soon Jim n Nick will be hiring us all!!

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
3/4 cup 2% milk
1 egg, beaten
4 tbsp. butter, softened
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp vanilla

Directions

Mix ingredients together, pour into greased muffin pan and at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes or until done.  (Remember if you use a baking dish instead of muffin pan, cook an additional 12 minutes and 6 of those minutes cover the dish with foil and lower the heat to 375 degrees.)

Ps- while in the middle of writing this post Hunter ran thru the back door extremly upset!  I asked him what had happened thinking he fell off the trampoline or a bee got him… Nope, neither… This is what an extremely scared little boy looks like when a jumping spider lundges him and he’s enclosed in the trampoline by the net… lol normally he’s not bother by creepy crawlies at all….

Senior Portrait Scholarship Program

Did you know that you have a choice? You don’t have to purchase your graduation pictures from the contracted school photographer. You can go to whomever you want to get images that reflect who you are, images that you absolutely love… Unfortunately, this might not be the only obstacle you’re being faced with when it comes down to purchasing a session.

Graduating is, well… expensive, and it can take quite a toll on your parents wallets. You’re senior pictures might be the first thing to get axed off the list if you’re down to a budget, which happens quite a bit. That’s why Imagery is offering the Senior Portrait Scholarship Program for 3 deserving seniors per year.

Like a traditional scholarship, the end reward is beneficial to you and your parents with a little work upfront, a short essay. The 2 essays chosen will receive a free package valued each at $300+. Sound easy enough? It is. You, your friends, your parents, your teacher- whoever can put in a scholarship essay for anyone they feel is deserving of this opportunity. All essays should be received by email or snail mail by August 1st, 2008. The chosen applicants will be decided upon by August 15th, 2008.

Love…

There’s nothing quite like love from a child, especially your own.

My boys are beyond the most thoughtful and sweetest little things ever when it comes to their mama, Me!

Last night I went to crawl into bed, and on my pillow was this little “aaaaw” from Jayden.  It was half of a red tulip, and a torn peice of paper that read, Happy Mothers Day, by Jayden- glued to one of the petals that remained on the wilted stem.  How sweet is he!

Hunter brought me home a potted flower from school and a little note that still needs some deciphering LOL.  They are just amazing.  Mother’s day is my FAVORITE holiday because of the little things that make me just tear up that my kids do.

So to all mom’s, as Hunter would say…. “Happy ALMOST Mother’s Day!”

took this with my phone.. so excuse the quality of the pic!
